Switching Broadband Providers Introduction

If you are already signed up to a particular broadband provider you can change your service by migrating, transferring your service or upgrading and the whole process should be relatively straight forward, since most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have signed up to the code of practice specifically designed to reduce delays in 'migrating' to another broadband provider.

This code of practice is a voluntary measure, designed for consumer protection, has been proposed and developed by an industry group of broadband service providers. The code aims to secure agreement between service providers to facilitate fairly the so-called 'migration' of customers from one provider to another, to ensure that the process is relatively seamless.

As the broadband market grows and more consumers take up broadband services, customers may wish to change service providers to take advantage of new and innovative services or cheaper offers, it's a terrific way of saving money if you have found a better deal that suits your budget. Rather than simply cancelling your existing connection with your current ISP, its probably better to utilise the MAC (migration authorisation code) system to simplify the process & make the connection changes on your behalf.
